You can try h*tp://www.nvu.com/. Its free and a decent first start.

Of course, I'd really recommend notepad2 h*tp://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html but it aint a wysiwyg editor.

I really like conTEXT (http://www.context.cx/) and HTMLkit (http://www.htmlkit.com/). Neither are WYSIWYG, but I wouldn't recommend using a WYSIWYG anyway. They make really sloppy code and usually creates SEO unfriendly pages.

I'm using HTML-Kit too, it's free and expendable by hundreds of free plugins.

It is more of a code editor but I find it very helpful.

I think NVU isn't great, it adds lots of crap to the code.
My Fav is PsPad, a free editor with plenty of useful functions.

Another great one is PHP expert editor, but this one costs 40$.

yeah, notepad++ is a nice one, too.

I hate editors like dreamweavr etc, that isn't real programming and misakes aren't easy to solve.

nvu if your not wanting to code.

ps I kind of like dreamweaver for coding, cuts down coding time by about 50% for me due to it closing tags for you and finishing words etc.

I use Arachnophila.
Actually I'm a bit odd and use Arachnophilia 4.0 because I'm the kinda guy who, once he starts using a program, tends to stick with it. I mean I've looked at NVU and some of the others but I still prefer this. http://www.arachnoid.com/arachnophilia/index_old.html

Thing about it is, is that it's not valid xhtml, so I don't use half of the buttons on it, well the bold and italics buttons are fine just stay away from the underline. :p

There's a newer version which from what I remember makes valid code but I don't like it, it neither looks nor acts like the original. 4.0 is a rather basic affair, it's not wwsisyg, rather notepad with bells on, with a built in preview tab so you can toggle back and forth between either the apps internal browser or whichever browser you desire, making edits as you go along.
Yeah what can I say, I'm old skool.

It's like tabbed notepad, which is just great.
The way I work is I usually have Arachnophilia 4.0 open for editing the html and use Editpad for the css.

I have used Dreamweaver for a few projects before, but I find all the features way too distracting and instead find the minimalism of Arachnophilia somehow reassuring.
