Can someone direct me to info about PR and what is meand on directories when they talk about PR and what is means to me. I have an ecommerce site and was thinking of submitting to free directories, just wondered what the PR means. I see 1's 4,s etc. Do I have to have a page rank of 4 to submit to a directory?

If you were a wise man you would ignore the page ranking system and just build the best website possible for you business or service. The page ranking system is a rating Google gives a website and has turned a lot of webmasters into complete fools.

stoner3221 is right, though - don't get too worked up about PR (it isn't a big factor in the Google search results) and conentrate on making your site the best it can be.
