Hello friends..
How do i restore my old database for my Wordpress blog ?? I downloaded the database from old host & uploaded in new host & tried to install WP manually did everything right including editing wp-config.php but when i start the installer it says
"Already Installed
You appear to have already installed WordPress. To reinstall please clear your old database tables first."
Solutions will be highly appreciated :)

You need to import the .sql file into the database that is pointing in your wp-config.php (assuming you have one pointing there). Once that is done your wordpress install should show up and there is no need to run an installer or anything like that.

Yea! InFloW is right.. should not have to run any installer, if your wp-config.php file is already pointed to the database.. It should come on live..
Or, It sounds like you may have done the procedure in reverse.. Tried to install wordpress over an existing database? What you can do is try this in the other direction.. Install a fresh new Worpress install.. than go in database and drop all the tables in that database.. Than import your old WP .sql file into the new database to make all the tables and populate them with the ones from your old Wordpress site.

Install the wordpress first with new database name and user..
Go to phpmyadmin, click your wp database and then upload the old sql file.
Hope that helps :)

You have no physical files in your root folder. You said you uploaded it, check you uploaded it to the correct folder. Like www, public_html etc.
And this is you have to do.....

You have to upload the wordpress files. You can download it from www.wordpress.org/download/ . Then unzip wordpress zip file to computer and start uploading using FTP. Before uploading delete the just uploaded index.html file and postinfo file. I think you dont need to delete other files in the server root folder. For a backup, download all other files from your server root folder to your computer. In the wordpress zip file, you can find a readme file says about the installation procedure.
I think Fantastico did not installed wordpress...
