1)When did you submit the sitemap?
2)Have you submitted into Google's crawling tool?
3)Do you have many backlinks??

Google is notorious for being on the slow when it comes to new sites. Weeks, months, years, sometimes.

Just Submit it to google.
Within few days 10-15 Days site is get crawled.

Dont worry.

I wouldn't submit a site to google. I would try to get a link from a PR4 or PR5 site or put the site in your signature. Getting a bot to visit and adding it to their index are two different things. Original content makes getting your site indexed much easier. Made for adsense affiliate feeds and duplicate content sites may never get added.

How many months will google take to crawl my new website?

I am using google sitemap and it shows the 'sitemap.xml' being downloaded often in Google Sitemap. But the site is not being shown in google search.

Already MSN is showing more than 10 pages of my website. I wonder How many months will google & yahoo will take to crawl and show my new website in their search result?

Anything more that i should do to speedup this process?

I disagree with some of the replies.
In my experience Google does come fairly quickly to crawl your site.
But it takes a while to reflect the fact that it has crawled.

I have some competitive sites that were crawled within 24 hours of been created, (and many more time since then), but only now is Google starting to show my pages as been indexed.

As for sitemap, the jury is still out as the real use of it.

How old is your site dotcompals? remember that goolge has this filter called sandbox :cool:

Boohlick, my site is very young - just 4 weeks old. MSN is already showing some pages of my web.
btw: what is "sandbox". Can I know more?

The basic idea is that, the way Google’s algorithms work, your site might not show at the top of the search results for a long time.
This is because the algo take into account the age of the site.

There is a strong debate whether the sandbox actually exits or if it not just a sign of the webmaster been impatient and/or the site simply not been good enough.

But from personal experience, new sites do get penalized for a long time, especially if you have a competitive keyword. But how long you remain in the sandbox is a big debate.
