I have a site and I am looking to add a CJ store to it. Currently I am using joomla as my portal but the script doesnt have to be a joomla extension. What scripts are out there that allow you to set up a store using CJ? Do they use RSS to automatically update, can they filter each product into a category automatically? Any info and scripts/sites would be much appreciated as I am new to the store concept.
Thanks

There's a few Joomla plugins that can import CJ products into your shop. I haven't personally used any of them (Joomla freaks me out), but I've seen some pretty nice CJ/Joomla stores. Do a search on DP for CJ and Joomla - there's a few people here with nice stores.
You could also use eBay's RSS feed, or BANS to setup an eBay store.

Yeah, I have been seeing a lot of posts with BANS mentioned in them. Not to sure about ebay though, isnt the cookie only 7 days?
I will do a search for joomla/CJ and see what I can find, thanks.

Yes the cookie is only 7 days. But honestly, 7 days is pretty good - if you can drop your cookie on a 'family' computer, you've got the chance of getting commisisons for a lot of sales regardless of the niche (e.g Dad gets your eBay cookie while looking for boats, but Mom buys a dishwasher 4 days later).

Haha, I wish they were buying boats and dishwashers :D
Can you link me to this BANS thing you are talking about?

Nice! How can you trace what items you have earned from?
Ahhh, Build A Niche Store, BANS, it all makes sense now :o

I made a tool that does exactly that :) > here (http://www.thewebsiteprofessionals.com/cj-report-analyzer/)
You just run a CJ report through the "CJ report analyzer" and you'll get a sales summary that looks something like this:

Wow, just installed BANS and clicked roughly 20ish buttons and had items in my 'shop'. This is pretty cool. Any tips for optimizing the script, layout etc?
I used your aff link from your site since you helped me :)

There's not a lot you need to do to optimize BANS. Make sure you have a pretty header image :p And once you've got your first store up and running, set up another one... and another. As long as you can get some traffic you should be set.

Thanks for the aff purchase :D

Do you find bookmarking traffic effective or it it just a waste of time? Yeah, I was looking throught the settings and there isnt much I can do apart from the layout and some page content. Keeps it simple though, and less work.
No problem.
EDIT: Also, it there anyway to include html into the homepage so that I can put some of my other CJ ads there?

Bookmarking traffic is better than nothing - sites like onlywire.com are a good place to start.
Tweaking the BANS layout probably won't get you anymore sales ... just make yourself a nice header pic - the auction items themselves are what people generally pay attention to. I've got some terribly ugly sites that focus the users attention to the auctions, not the site design - it's not pretty, but the CTR is high.
Welcome aboard the eBay/CJ bandwagon :D

Ok, thanks for the tips. I have had a look around but cant find where I change the header image. I have put together one but not sure how to display it, also, is there restrictions on the header size or can I adjust the size of it?

Don't use the "normal" bans layout, a lot of bans stores are poping up, and soon or later google will begin to decrease the importance of a bans store.
Like any other script you need to change everything, including make more unique layouts.
