I have a forum and people don't want ads on the forum, so one thing I considered was asking everyone directly to sign up to an offer, for example a ringtone free trial (its a music forum) which I would get $10 for. Is this allowed by CJ? Since I would still be sending them decent traffic and maybe they would like the ringtones etc.

Please advise as to whether this is against TOS of CJ. I can't see why not but surely it's a very obvious thing to do and everyone could do it?

It will say incentivised next to it if its allowed, if you dont declare it they would likely freeze the earnings.

I'm not sure if that's what they would call an incentive. If you are just asking, not requiring, and they aren't getting anything in return? I don't see why that's nothing more than something like running a classified ad. As long as the advertiser allows you to do PPC, this is probably okay. Might still want to ask CJ though.

Well they do check and you would probably have a very high conversion ratio, so that would be a reason for them to look. It may well be possible anyway if the programme allows it.

From what I know (having had an account frozen) even if they do allow it you need to fully declare and fully describe your site + reward if it is incentivised.

I think it's ok because I will still be showing ads to the guests and normal members all the time (the members who signed up won't see the ads) so my conversion ratio wouldn't be that great, and since I will be using pretty contextual links and I won't be getting a crazy amount of leads I think its fine, I will also ask my members to spend some time around the sites and see if they like the offers....

Ok CJ tos will not speak of incetivized traffic. Its the individual merchants whos terms will. Its common knowledge if you want to divert incetivized traffic you must ask them.

In this case your traffic will not be incetivized as you are not giving them anything in return, thus there is no problems with what you want to do.
