Greetings,

I've searched a lot for the best optin, newsletter, autoresponder and mailing list script, and I've found a few, but don't know which one to choose.
I don't want to pay for a monthly service, so the script is the way to go. But I must choose one that isn't easily exploitable by spammers.

And if it allows to send only x mails per hour, to avoid problems, even better.

Thanks!

I'm really thinking of using phplist - http://tincan.co.uk
The only thing it doesn't have is an autoresponder, but I can forget that. Any better alternative?

I'm in the same situation. Phplist does everything but autorespond and that is exactly what I'm looking for.

Almost 3 months have passed, and my opinion changed a lot. I've investigate all kinds of autoresponders, hosted or scripts. Scripts are really dangerous because at the first spam complaint you can loose your domain.
So I decided to go with a hosted solution. I analysed 10 services and chose the one with best honest reviews, deliverability and price per number of subscribers.
It was one of the hardest researches I had to make until now.

I used to use Constant Contact, but as my list grew to over 10,000 members, my cost went up to $150 per month.

So I purchased OmniStar Mailer at a one time fee of $129 and I am very pleased with it so far. It includes mailing list management, auto responders, newsletter templates, nice graphic interface, form builder, bounce manager and more.

Installation was a snap as they took care of the rest once I prepared my hosting for it.

You can check out a free demo at:

It saved money my first month!

Hmm...I've been looking for a free reliable autoresponder script and it seems there isnt a free one that is good enough. Maybe I'll go with Omnistar...I'll do some further research....

If anyone has a better script to suggest, please do so ;)

EDIT: Crap! OmniStar does not accept payments via PayPal :(

I did went with Aweber (http://pro.aweber.com) , and I'm very happy. It has a very high deliverability because they work hard to white list their ip addresses.
It has a fair price, even better if you pay for one year. Don't forget who advised them. You'll be pretty happy.

Well, I have heard a lot of great things about Aweber. A few weeks ago I have decided to get Aweber and pay for 1 year but then I found out that they dont accept payments via PayPal. So I went with EmailAces but their interface is very confusing.....

Well, I just wanted to tell everyone that I have bought OmnistarMailer. I managed to talk to one of their support staff, and they allowed me to pay via PayPal ($129 one-time fee...they didn't even ask me to cover the paypal fees :D)

Had a few hickups when installing it but everything was resolved with the help of Omnistar Support Staff and my web host.

I'll probably change to Aweber once I reach about 1k-2k prospects...right now I only have about 100+ lol :p

Btw, if anyone wants a 10 day free trial of the script, PM me and I'll give you the details ;)

EDIT: Just in case if anyone wants to buy ProfitSponder (http://profitsponder.com/), DONT!. Trust me...you'll regret it. It's the crappiest script I've ever encountered with. If you dont believe me, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the download link for you to try it yourself ;)

Most people that went with EmailAces are changing to Aweber. I know that because I get emails from many webmasters asking me to subscribe again...

Boy I'm glad I joined this forum. Try ListMailPRO - it's a PHP solution you install on your web site... We've been in business 5 years so far and have a TON of experience! :D
