Hi everybody,

It's the first time I am trying to grab dropping domain, Today I received the following email from snapnames, your experience advise in this regard is required whether I increase the bid or not.

Dear SnapNames Customer,

Domain name(s) that you have placed a bid on are now scheduled for auction at a starting bid that is greater than your current maximum bid.

In order to win a domain name, the reserve price must be met and your bid must be the winning bid.

Be sure to check on the start day of the auction for the actual start time. Note that if multiple equal bids are received, the first bidder wins the opening bid.

To view the current state of these auctions, or change your maximum bids, click here.

Domain Name Reserve Bid Your Max. Bid Status Approx. Start Date

xxxxxxx.com $99.00 $59.00 Reserve Not Met! Sep 30, 2007 12:00 PDT

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you.

Thanks in advance

Yes, you need to bid at least $99 to be included in the auction. There may be other bidders after that, but you won't be able to find that out (and certainly won't get the name) unless you agree to a minimum of $99.

I heard that waiting can result in lower of reserve, btw, do you have any experience with snapnames?

I have tons of experience with SnapNames. I've always backordered @ 60$ though, have never got that e-mail before...

Snapnames increased their reserve price on most of the names. I suggest you to increase the bid. I have rxed these mails many times

Should I increase my minimum bid to $100 or wait untill the last moment may be their reserve price decreases?

The reserve price is fixed. They won't reduce it AFAIK.. I suggest you to increase the bid to $99 if you really want to grab the domain by participating in the auction....The advantage is that if nobody bids on the domain, you will be able to get it at $99, which is not possible if you don't increase the bid to $99 from $60..

What I understand from you is if I didn't increase the bid from $60 to $99 AND I am the only bidder, still I will not win the auction, right?

or if I am the only bidder may I win the auction at $60 ?

Yes, What you understood is correct. You won't get the domain for $60 even if you are the only bidder as the reserve price is set to $99
