View Full Version : Google Adwords Improvements

I have compiled a few suggestions which I feel will make Google Adwords more user-friendly. Do with them what you will, but as one who manages a massive keyword account on a daily basis, I can assure you that these improvements would make things easier.

1. Allow individual keywords to be "paused" rather than having to delete them. If a keyword is not performing well this week, it might be next week...

2. Allow disabling of content match at the Ad Group level rather than just at the Campaign level.

3. Need a tool to better focus keywords which is the opposite of "negative match". By adding this "positive match" keyword to a list of keywords within an Adgroups, none of the keywords will trigger an ad to be shown unless it includes this "positive match" keyword.

4. Get rid of "Adwords by Gooooooooooogle"

#2 is my favorite. I've written google about that a few times.

#3 is kind of pointless. Negative essentially performs this function already. I'd think most people want their ad to always appear unless certain word are chosen. For me, I want my ads to appear unless "review" or "instructions" or something is included in the search. Otherwise show it.

#1 Do you really look at keywords weekly? I look at them once a month and go on past history. Its not a bad idea, but too much micromanagement in your campaigns is not a good idea all the time.

Ok but say perhaps one of my adgroups has these keywords:
steven johnson syndrome attorney
steven johnson syndrome attorneys
steven johnson syndrome class action
steven johnson syndrome class action lawsuit
steven johnson syndrome class action lawsuits
steven johnson syndrome law firm
steven johnson syndrome law firms
steven johnson syndrome law suit
steven johnson syndrome law suits
steven johnson syndrome lawsuit
steven johnson syndrome lawsuits
steven johnson syndrome lawyer
steven johnson syndrome lawyers
steven johnson syndrome litigating
steven johnson syndrome litigation
stevens johnson syndrome attorney
stevens johnson syndrome class action
stevens johnson syndrome class action lawsuit
stevens johnson syndrome lawsuit
stevens johnson syndrome lawyer

BUT, I only want these keywords to trigger an add IF one of these three drugs is included:

celebrex
bextra
daypro

Is there an easy way to do this that I am just missing?

Currently I am managing over 3000 keywords ranging from 1cent to $39.00 CPC.

I simply have to keep an eye on this. On average we spend $25K per week. I simply have to make sure this money is being spent wisely.

Thanks,
