I've always wondered why people buy ringtones over making them. The time has come where ringtones searches are declining for broad terms and people are starting to learn how to make there own ringtones. I still make a little money but with declining volume, adding a possible 3rd step to confirm ringtones and other stuff Ringtones atleast for affiliates are dying. Mobile Content providers still make an awesome amount of money though.

Ring tone making software is a niche that might be good to fall back on. I don't mean promoting it as an affiliate, but rather having one made up and selling it...

It's taken a decline for me lately, but instead of spending all my time trying to fix the problem, I'm ignoring it and working on other more stable niches that will replace it.

That sounds like the best thing to do.

My volume is about 10% of what it used to be, but that 10% is still converting nicely.

I just got into the ringtone game a couple months ago (a little late I realize) but so far September has been my best month yet.
Cell phone usage still has a way to go in the US before it peaks, which helps offset the number of people who have discovered how to make their own tones.
I'm going to keep riding this gravy train until it stops for good.

I agree it has gone down a bit.

Find a niche with more demand and less competition. Results tend to tank with the overly competitive niches such as "ringtones" anyway.

I know that shoemoney (the lord of the ringtones) said that the ringtones are dying.. The search volume is going down. I just dont see a future for this industry.

Well, obviously Shoemoney is slightly biased here. Less competition equals more profits. I'm not saying he's not being honest, but I think he's exaggerating a little (I think we would all do the same in his position, maybe subconsciously).
Cell phone usage is still rising in the US (and especially internationally) which will help offset the people who start making their own tones for free...
Ringtones are more stable than most affiliate sectors because there are several providers and many affiliate companies that offer campaigns. If you spend a lot of time and money creating a great campaign for some other product ONLY offered by Azoogle for example, there is a higher risk you'll lose your hard work since you don't have any other options if the particular offer gets pulled.
Yes, ringtones are slowly dying, but I think their demise will take much longer than others do.

Nah, I don't think Jeremy cares about that, the people that would listen and take that advice are 95% cronies anyways and wouldn't hurt him because his ad would still be on top of theirs. If you're going to quit working on ringtones (while they're working for you) because of what 1 affiliate says, you're a cronie in the first place.
At least that's why I think he doesn't care about that, but hey I'm not him.
