Hey Guys,

I average around 191 uniques per day, with an average of 5,500 uniques per month. That has been the same on average for approx 9 months now, but this month, my daily visiors has gone down to an average of 81 per day, and so far ive only received 348 uniques for the whole month...

Is anybody else experiancing the same issue, and could anybody explain what this sudden drop in visitors could be? the site hasnt been modified or changed in any way for approx 3 months now.

Depending on what kind of content you have and the area your site covers, your lack of updating may have to do with it.

Nothing in here, all the ranking is the same and the traffic is almost the same, it might depend on your site market and search volume.

Ive lost a chunk of traffic also. Went from getting around 700 uniques to about 120 uniques on the 9th of Sept. and its been like that ever since. I had just added TLA to the site and quickly removed it after reading a few posts around here a day or so later. Now Im just waiting, perhaps things will get back to normal in a few days. Its kinda frustrating because I had worked so hard to get traffic up too... oh well, back to optimizing I guess.

Check to see what backlinks you have. Webmaster tools would give you a good overview of what's going on with your site. I noticed much of the same thing on my site but it was just because I screwed up somewhere :P

Google's normal totally.

Its probably the fact that you haven't updated. I've heard a lot of people say they lost a chunk of their readers after not updating. I even see a small drop when I go a few days without updating..

Where did you get most of your traffic from? Have there been any changes to your marketing tactics.

75% of my traffic comes direct from search engines, the rest is direct link clicks from articles and other sources. there has been no change to my marketing tactics for approx 8 months now. as far as im aware i have done nothing different in any aspect of my website at all, thats why i dont understand such a sudden and extreme drop in traffic levels.

if you did not loose any of your backlinks, it may come back. just continue to work

Threre's been a lot of flux in the rankings over the last two week and its better not to do a knee-jeck reaction.

I think that may run tests on filters over the weekend so that's why Monday is better in my opinion.

oh yeh i see what you mean. yeh thanks for your input, ill give it a few more days or until the end of this week until i decide whether to make changes or not. interestingly many of my main keywords are still at page one and two rankings, so there has been no drop in actuall rankings, so this is something im going to follow very closely before i make any sudden changes.
