I known that you can get an IP ban for several search queries, but are you limited in any way to the PR query ?!

Yes, PR queries are against Google's TOS to begin with:)

Yes, this i am asking myself. i saw web directories who query maybe 30k-50k times a day from the same IP for the PageRank, and they are not banned,lol

I think they use toolbarquieries.google.com not to get banned

The ones I have usued usually require you to input your Google API number then it's ok to check your PR.
