Does anyone see any change in Google Directory. After 2 years of waiting. Googles still loves DMOZ.

I think people need more information to know exactly what you are talking about...

You must admit the timing is nice though...as all the other directories drop in SERP the google.dir get an update.
There goes the competition!

I am talking about Google Directory http://directory.google.com/ which uses DMOZ database.
There will be a PR update in the near future.

I am in the search results but not listed on the category page, so there hasn't been a recent google dir update.

It's about time. I think it took longer for Google to update the directory than it did to get in DMOZ

I think DMOZ should now be dropped. it is old, out-dated, very very large and in desperate need of some major updating in my opinion,. i think people shoud forget about DMOZ, i dont think it makes much of a difference if your in dmoz or not. im on page 2 of google for a competitive keyword, and im not in the DMOZ directory

Firstly, congratulations on 400 posts.
Secondly, as a counter to your example, I have a 3 page (excluding guestbook) website which has been number 1 in Google,MSN and Yahoo for the last 7 years for a few keywords. The website that is number 2 is an active website with a few thousand pages. Only difference besides that, is that my website is in DMOZ and he's is not.
Based on the above, one can make a conclusion that it does help in SERPs.
That is probably the reason why so many webmasters gripe about the delays in their website submission into DMOZ/ODP as they know getting their website in will help them in SERPs.
