Can someone refer me to somewhere that explain site maps. I am trying to get my site www.sendmeadollarplease.com
to show up on google and I have read that you just need to send a site map but I can seem to find anymore information then this. I would appreciate the help

sitemaps just list all the pages in your site to allow the searchengines to easily index your site. they used to just be hand generated html pages but now they can be auto generated. just do a search on google for sitemaps.

You technically don't need to use one, if you want to get listed - just use a social bookmarking site like del.icio.us. I think sitemaps only show search engines the site structure, rather than helping them spider the actual content.

submitting the site map of your site will make your site easy to crawl by spiders. any updates and improvements can be easily detected by spiders once you submit a site map. there is nothing to worry for submitting site map, still it helps.
