People directory script

I'm thinking to start a website like a directory for professionals in a specific field, allowing them to sign up and be listed in the directory (name, address, phone, email, website, personal description, special interests and maybe some other).

Which CMS would you advise me to use for this purpose? (preferably free)

I think any popular script can be modified to do that easily. I have used a few indian programmers to modify biz directory script to do that.

I've checked out the biz directory script and it seems to be fit to modifications, it shouldn't be difficult.
Could you please tell me the link to your website, if that's not too much asking? Or any hints to modify the script? Thanks!
