View Full Version : Does Article Submission count as content based link?

Hey guys,
I just came across a question which I thought I should share with everyone here so that it can turn down to a discussion and information.

Most of us do article submission in which we normally submit the same article to various article directories. Purpose is to get content based back links :D

Well that is good but I was wondering how worthy is it to get links from duplicate contents? Since its the same article submitted to various article directories, we would get the same content on all those sites. Also will it not create duplicate content among those sites?

Any thought on this?

If you submit the same article to multiple directories it will be classed as duplicate content. How I get around this is only submit to 5 top article directories and re-write the article for each directory.

Even if the content is on a number of directories it doesn't mean that Google will de-valuate the link, however on some of the article directories the article page may be put in the supplemental index.

I think article submission doesn't help in improving SERP but can be a source of traffic.

NO Article submission can also be a good resource for SERP and traffic.

I also submit the same article to all the directories.
Result - Only high page rank sites like ezine, articlecity, etc are indexed

the article in article directories can rank well in SERP but doesn't help with your site SERP. It can only be a source of traffic.

I've seen it work both ways, but for the most part article directories are just a good source of traffic.
