I've just noticed that they began showing the check number and date it was written in the Payment section of adsense.. not a huge change, but good for record keeping purposes.

I saw that too. Check date is between 20th and 23d of a month

saw it too last wednesday. I hope they can add "Fedex Tracking Number" for Fedex Members and "Date Send" for US Postal Mails.
