hi all, how do you start with link building when you have a new page (PR 0) ?? do you first buy links because nobody wants to exchange links with a PR 0 site?!

If you have quality content - and have a site that is not 100% ads most sites will see the "potential" in your site and link to you. You just need to make sure that your site is quality vs quantity.

I submit the site on web directories, link to blog, and post to forums using the link of the site as my sig.

Agree with above, start with some good, free directories. If you need quick effects - then try to buy some.

You can actually generatate a lot of traffic from forums. But then if you are looking at real good traffic with a good PR you need to provide solutions. For instance more people are looking at forums for answers. If you have an answer to their question then you have a good chance of getting more links to your site, not only from the forum but also from the visitors website (if he has one). For more information you may want to check the blog on Link Exchange (http://www.design2host.net/blog/2007/08/link-exchange-through-articles.html) here on http://www.design2host.net/blog/2007/08/link-exchange-through-articles.html Hope this helps.

There are many more ways to go about gaining links besides buying and link exchanges. You should do some reading about link baiting.

Linkexchanged.com worked for me, you can try that. Buy only 2-3 high PR links from directories. Use forum posts. Post often.

i suggest starting with friends' websites, family websites, make sure there isn't a nofollow by url though, then try link trading with lavalinx (http://www.lavalinx.com/). it doesn't hurt to try, right? what are you gonna lose, you won't lose PR. :)

A few article submissions are a good place to start and blog posts. People will still exchange links with a pr0 site if the content is high quality. Any webmaster who's link is worth going after will understand that a quality pr0 link will one day be a quality pr4,5,6 or 7 site.

I wonder, why ?? :)
What if this service is quality one ?

Automatic link exchange services always helped me, even unprofessional automated services provided some good results.

But i was talking about GOOD service.

directory submission = not much help unless great directories like dmoz

forums posting = help getting indexed but that's about it

social bookmaking= not much help at all unless you have link bait

blogging = about what?

First you need to have great content. ;) If that is unachievable then start buying links but only if you know for sure that they look legitimate.

1) Directory Submission can most defiantly help. there are a lot of high PR directories out there

2) Social Bookmarking can get you indexed quick, plus those links can last for weeks on the right site, and even sit on a high PR page.

3) Blog. Make WP and Blogger blogs about your site, why you are unique etc. these will get indexed and give you back links. If you are trying to run a website ANY website and you don't know what to blog about then I'd say don't build a website.

4) Squidoo is another great place to get good backlinks.

I've never asked for one link in my life and have multiple sites with over 10,000 backlinks.

Here is the best way I have found to find great high PR sites to drop my link on:

inurl:.edu + "KeyWord"

Most edu's can give great link juice and offer a way for you to post your link..
