LOL, I saw huge Google Ads in the middle of page and thought that blog's owner is a little bit crazy. Then I have realized it's just a picture of Google ads to introduce themed ads.

So I added your blog to my bookmarks, keep it updated!

No designers on staff? Did MD whip open Photoshop and make the header?

Honestly the header is like so 1990's, the rest is fine and great but maybe get a professional header done and tell MD to stop pretending to be a designer.

Come to think of it I was giving MD too much credit, ever see his sites? All white and text, no graphics. Maybe contact wwhhome, he has an awesome graphics designer, he made his avatar.

Are you going to use permalinks? Not as much value with the structure you have now.

the blog is very clean, but I have mentioned on other posts that having too many entries on the front page is a major turn off. Especially if your sidebar content doesn't scroll very far. I would much rather see four or five posts maximum on the front page and everthing else relegated to the archives. When you do that you can use the "Related Posts" plugin to add links to other posts beneath those four on five on the front page. You are at least motivating your viewers to check out what else you have to offer.

Hi

Its my first post but I've been reading a while. I should do an intro I guess, maybe later.

One thing I would do is checkout the rss feeds from the site. It looks like they give the whole feed and not a summary (I subscribed and got all the content). If you wish people to visit the site (and click on ads) then you don't want to give them all your content without making them visit perhaps.

The other thing is maybe limit the number of posts on the front page a little more. After the 6th or 7th post your sidebars have gone and its just dead space then. Either put more stuff in the sidebars, or reduce the number of posts.

Finally, as someone else mentioned, use the URL rewrite function

Constructive criticism only.

I agree, might want to limit the posts and even use summaries that link to the full story. You can check the blog listed by my name for an example if you like.

Joy of being involved aside, Permalinks and number of posts on front-page are a must. :D

In time we will organize it into categories as well, that should help "clean it up" a little bit :)

Gotta agree with ServerUnion-- Emil2k your blog looks good but it need to limit the posts--way to long...if you put adsense on the left side column you might make more money--- Lore

I agree, but I just dont like categories but maybe I'm wrong, I really dont want to limit any of the posts or have the pressure of trying to fill up any ceratin category cause some are more heavily populated, I want the blog to be free of any restraints...

But definetly like the summaries and the post limit idea...and I think I will place the limit at ten...

Also can someone give me a link to where I can get the related posts plug in, sounds good...

Thanks for comments

Hi

I use the related posts plugin. You can find it at www.w-a-s-a-b-i.com on the right hand sidebar.

Hope that helps

Andy

PS The feedburner feed may change to summaries when it refreshes (I guess it must visit every now and again to pull the feed). I am not sure how often it does that, but I suspect that is the case.

Dont change the header! It looks fabulous. If this were mine, I wouldn't make any changes to it, it looks great. And I actually read your entries (most of the time I dont) and the content is top-notch as well.

I had a question guys what do you prefer a blog with no pictures or illustrations just text and content or do you like what we are doing trying to balance illustrations with text and tutorials?

Would like to know what blog readers think :)

I like your blog and your header banner. I've got about a billion posts links on my sidebar. I like it that way.:D

Shouldn't you change the permalinks?

emil2k
Dec 17th 2005, 8:41 pm
yeah we are having problems with those permalinks...but we have a talented group so we will get the problem solved...

I like it a lot! I especially like the AdSense integration, very well done... the colour is also clean and good-looking on the human eye.

Think you've done a great job!

I looked at the top blogs on the web and I saw that they always had those 468x60s on the bottom of each post so I just thought I implement it, used a greyish green for background and a the TS green for the title link...
