Links from Myspace profiles

I was just wondering, do links from myspace profiles pass page rank or do they use nofollow?

No, they dont use nofollow as far as i remember since one of my site had a Backlink in google from a friend's space in previous update.... although its not showing now but...

Comments don't pass PR or help your site at all.

If they are link directly in the profile though (IE in the About Me secion) they will pass PR.

if you have myspace related site, links from myspace can help you but links from myspace will not help to a software (or the other sites)

If I hover my mouse over a link in my Myspace profile under 'who i'd like to meet' or whatever then the URL displayed is msplinks.com/ghipehsgpih or something like that rather than my url. If I click it it goes to my site but I wonder if that would really count as a link for SEO purposes and pass page rank.

i dont think so, there are many categories and people have different taste. you cant even say that myspace is not quite useful for music, fashion or celebrity one site

Yes they help and pass PR so long as they are NOT cloaked by the msplinks.com redirect.

If you have old profiles dont update them or your direct links will change.

Profile links use msplinks now so they wont pass PR.

You can't, but if you have old profiles that havn't been modified since the msplinks.com implementation they will still have direct links. I've still got 12 or so profiles, mainly PR5 that still work.

If you still have direct links, don't modify the profile or you will loose them.
