Hello,
I went to the microsoft site today to find a personal web server(PWS) in order to install it but no success. Whenever i type personal web server in their search bar, it comes back with different results. I have no idea whever microsoft changed the name or not. I'm unable to find it.
Do you guys know the way maybe the new name or how i can look for it , which words to type for in order to find it? I would appreciate your quick help.
Thanks.;)

Hey,
PWS (Personal Web Server) is way old. It is now called IIS. If you are looking for a personal server though I suggest you use WAMP http://www.wampserver.com/en/index.php it includes PHP5, Apache, MySQL DB. IIS is ONLY a webserver and it is a pain in the a** to install PHP/MySQL
It is free and only has one install file. It's great for personal servers or development servers.
Check it out and tell me what you think ;)

Well, since this is the ASP forum I guess the guy needs a proper environment to run his ASP scripts or something, while WAMP, JSAS or XAMPP are best for running PHP applications on.

Clive, i went to that site today also. It point a download link to microsoft dowloads page that gives an error. The error says something like that:
We’re sorry, but we were unable to service your request. You may wish to choose from the links below for information about Microsoft products and services.
And yes, i need a server that could run with ASP.

PWS was a product which was included on Windows 98. If you have Windows 98 Installation CD, you can find PWS on this CD in the add-ons/pws folder. Since Windows 98 has reached End of life, it might have been removed from the site.

Try using Abyss Web Server. I have used it successfully for years and it is a breeze to install. There is a free fully working trial.
