MSN search Beta version (http://techpreview.search.msn.com/)

Here's a sneak preview of the new MSN search ..... although some of you might have seen it already? This is going to MSN's big gun (for the moment at least) against Google. I love the SERPs on this one so far as they are not biased towards displaying the BIG sites and my sites are in the top 5 for all keywords I am wanting to target. :D

What do you guys think of this one??

Kind of crap so far actually. Nothing that remotely compares with the quality of Google or even Yahoo! When I do a site: search for our site, it actually shows link redirects with the title of the site they are directing to.. huh? Very strange.

It also doesn't help that we don't seem to rank well there ;)

I think people who rank high on this (like me) would probably love it to bits, and the ones that don't might hate it! :D Strange, huh?

Yeah, funny how it works like that ;) - still, rankings aside, there are some bugs as mentioned in my post. And it doesn't handle multiple URL variables as nicely as Google.

The only thing I can say is that the results are quite different from Google's. I'd still put my bet on Google - for the time being :)

Do a link check on your site
They show far more than any other SE
and seem to get them up rather quick.

Like Shawn pointed out in another post- if SEO's like it, its probably not the best ;)

I think the results differ so much because of one thing.

There is no sandbox.

All new search engines need to build up historical content before they start using adequate sandbox algorithms. It may be months before a search engine starts to adequately limit new content that attempts to play with the search results.

You of course are assuming Microsoft even has the capability. :)

This is going to MSN's big gun (for the moment at least) against Google. Glad to know G won't have to be worrying about MS then :D

Google is the search engine King
I don't think there is any search engine can compete with it
