Yahoo Answers websites (answers.yahoo.com) is a brilliant website if taken in the perspective of a advertising ground. Thousands of people coming up wid numerous questions daily, many even related to grounds like affiliate marketing, social networking. Found it a great platform for advertising ur own business through smart answers and signatures too !

Guys u can try Yahoo Answers to increase ur referral earnings or even for generating traffic. T

If your talking about the right topic i am sure you can get some good traffic to your site.

I tried without success. Some people live on there to report posts. If you put only just enough info to get them to click your link, most of the time it's deleted as spam. Put too much info and no reason for them to click. It does pad your backlink numbers, but I had zero visitors referred from them, even when answering questions like "what's a good site for"-and by legitimate users, not me talking to myself.

Its often foolish to put links to get them deleted. It should be hidden within the post but not with that http:// mark. I have got good responses....a smart way to draw traffic is Yahoo answers

I haven't had any success. I think it's good if you have an article or post directly related to the question's topic. Unfortunately, that's pretty limited for me.

Are you saying don't do a live link? Or how do you link without http:// on that site?

I dont recommend yahoo answers unless you have some sort of script and even then you need to answer ALOT of questions to get much traffic.

It's a lot of labor, but little things add up in the long run.

If you're looking to promote your site, create 2 yahoo accounts. Use the first one to ask the question and the second to answer. Try not to make it so obvious that you are just promoting. After 4 hours go back and mark your answer to your question as the best answer.

Looks like a good option. Let me give it a try and see if it works. :D

i've never added a link to my site into Yahoo Answers, but many other people have added links to my site to help answer various questions.. I think this means my site is an authority site!

I get a few dozen hits per day from it.. nothing great..

I have a program that did this for me, I didn't get such good response, but the program kicked ass.

I have done this before with success. But instead of going out and just posting up links everywhere, just answer questions logically then include your link in the source box. I get like 30 visitors a day from there.

I've tried it but it's just not bringing much traffic in for me. 30 visitors a day is a joke, though.

I have had a few hits from there, but I can't be bothered creating an account myself as the links have no follow attributes, I believe!

Direct traffic from Y! Answers is close to null but Google and Yahoo! bots pick those questions very quickly. Now if someone is searching for an answer for a question like many people do, link to the Y! Answer will be somewhere on the 1st page.

I signed up for it and never used it for affiliate marketing but I think I will try it. Thanks for suggesting it.

Search engines dont follow no follow tags. Google certanily doesnt.

I agree,

it really does help boost traffic, mainly for proxies as everyday you have people asking for unblocked proxies.

I think it depends on your reputation there, if you have good reps people will likely see your answers (and obviously the link you suggest) and you can get a really good targeted visitors for your site.

You can expect traffic/referrals from Yahoo Answers on when u talk sensible and on topic else ur answers will be deleted which sucks!

Ya I agree that its a good platform for advertising but I feel bored answering to the questions :p

its ok but their are alot of better options out their, I mirth answer a few questions now and then,

but I find if you have good content on your own sites other randoms will link back to your site lol...

I get ok traffic from this certain page where my answer is number 1 or something, like a few thousand uniques a month, I didn't even post the answer some other user did...

Yea, I'd say Yahoo Answers is too smart to recognize flagrant advertising platforms. Any links to a commercial website in the Answer section may be removed. This is not so if referring to an informational website. So many moderators (rats) looking out for any opportunists.
