Im installing a phpbb skin onto a forum but every time I put all the files and stuff in the right place and go back to the admin panel and click it, it says "The template you selected has no themes attached to it. To create a new theme click the Create New link on the left hand panel"

How can I change this.

Is the folder with the theme you downloaded in the themes folder? Clicking on styles within the forum, should then highlight this new style

It does do that but when I click the style it says theres no theme to it or something.

make sure the folder isn't inside of another folder.

Im referring to the template folder. It should be root/templates/style/files

Many styles unzip and if you upload as is it would be root/templates/style/style/files (which won't work)

Well first I put the folder in but it does not do admin and images so then I put admin then I put images will that work? Should I put admin and images in the main folder or put them by themselves in the template folder?

You can get them either at phpBBhacks.com or from the Official phpBB site (in the forum) at www.phpBB.com...They are better known as "themes"

Uploading the theme/style/template isn't enough - that just makes the "theme" available to install.

After uploading the files, log in to your Admin Control, Panel and scroll down to Styles Admin in the left panel. Then click on "Add" - this should display any uploaded templates that have not yet been installed for use by the forum.

Did you install it through the ACP as I said above?

Go into your ACP again... scroll down to Styles Admin, and click on Manage Styles.

What do you see there?

Yes. Don't worry about the create and export options though. Install should install the style; Manage allows you to delete styles.

Now, check your forum configuration from the ACP.

Login and scroll down the left panel to General Admin | Configuration. Click on that. Then, in the right panel scroll down until you see these two items:

Default Style

Override user style
Replaces users style with the default
If you want to be able to use the new style, select it in the Default Style dropdown box. To use this one and have all members use it, click on "Yes" for Override user style. To give members the choice of different themes, leave "No" checked there.

Try not to place them manually. Install them from admin panel. It will help.
