Favorite Christmas Movie

Well, for a family movie, bar none "Miracle on 34th Street" is my all time favorite.

This is generally the first Christmas movie of the season played in my house, and it's been a Thanksgiving Day tradition for my kids for several years now. After watching the Macy's Parade and then gorging on a huge meal, we resign to the family room, light a fire, and watch Miracle on 34th Street - the original 1947 B&W.

So what are some of your favorites?

Not very original but despite seeing it a million times, Its a Wonderful Life is still my favourite with Ralphie following right behind. (The sequel to A Christmas Story with Charles Grodin was also excellent)

Of course The Nightmare Before Christmas is right up there

1988 Scrooged was funny! That is my favorite. I like the "heartwarming" ones as well, but that one was unique and had so many stars from several generations of movie making in it.

I could only think of The Grinch.
So, my favourite would be The Grinch :D :D

My kids were very young when that came out five years ago. My son was five at the time and loved it, however, my daughters were scared to death of the Jim Carrey depiction of Grinch.

The "Muppets Christmas Carol" and "Scrooged" are my favourite Christmas movies.

My favourite movie that's not a Christmas movie, but is always on at Chrismas is "Oliver!" the musical.

Oh, and I really enjoyed the Polar Express last year, but I don't know how it'll stand up to repeated viewings.

Polar Express is my new favorite Christmas movie. Being a fan of steam locomotives may have something to do with it. But I think it was a really cool movie.
