View Full Version : My Goal: $250,000 in 5 months
markvin2205
Aug 5th 2007, 6:03 am
Hello,
I have just launched my website, and would love some suggestions to improve it. Its basically for people to learn how to make money on the Internet. Being just an average person who has only been studying ways to make money on the Internet for about a year, I want to help others who are like me, or even people with less or more experience learn what I have learnt about making money online.
I have done some calculations and YES I do think it is possible!
Any suggestions would be helpful, and while your there, feel free to sign up, you may learn something new.

Thanks

How much are you making now in average per month online ?

While i wish you the best of luck on your goal, i quite dislike these plain email hoarding sites. Your website has only one page, it has no introduction on your behalf, it has no history on your past work, it has nothing written as to which ideas and techniques you are going to put up to achieve the goal... It has 2 'signup now' forms, tho. That gives me, personally, not such a good first impression.

No but seriously , Thats going to be a tough one :)
Good luck , I hope you do make that :-)

To SEOLinker,
I was very busy with studying and working, but now that I have finished studying I have alot more time for the Internet. I made about $1000 in a month, while spending about 4-5 hours a week. But I wasn't really focused, as I was studying.
To DevilHellz,
Thanks for the advice. Once someone is signed up to the in5months site, there is much more information on the re-directed site.

Mark -
I would also say you might want to check your facts on your site - or point us to references about the numbers you are putting together. I see no evidence that YouTube or Facebook are making (as in profit) anywhere close to 1 billion dollars.

Exacly, but if you put your mind to it and are creative you can pull it off.

I would never spam to anyone, I myself delete spam without even reading it, so why would I send spam?
Exactly right Zepo, if you put your mind to it and be creative it can be done.

Hey, that squeeze page is ingenious -
Is this your first venture? Then you've got balls -
I like the big goals too - it's gonna make you bust your ass -
A great learning experience for you - not 5 months, but I think you'll reach your goal!
markvin2205
Aug 6th 2007, 4:09 am
Don't worry I hate SPAM, so I will never send you crappy emails
Yes this is my first BIG venture like this. I might be thinking about cutting the goal down, then after this 5 months is up, I will then try a really BIG goal like $250,000 in 5 months.

A little suggestion: start right now or define the exact date. If you don't do that, you will never start... believe me.
And another question: What about your bugget?
markvin2205
Aug 6th 2007, 4:31 am
Yeh I know, but honestly I have no idea, as things keep coming up.
Also my budget can vary, as I do work, so if i do need to spend $100 bucks here and there for advertisement, doesn't matter to much

I don't think it's possible to make 50k a month by providing nothing but "text" on a web site. The site looks like 1000 other sites where webmasters just want others to sign up for "valuable information" which is not that valuable anymore once you get the first email. I don't want to badmouth it, but to me it looks like all the sites who highlight their text in yellow and promise 1000 results but in the end you just get spammed.
I wish you good luck tho ;)
markvin2205
Aug 7th 2007, 8:24 am

The goal I set is pretty high, and I am thiking about lowering it, and then when the 5 months is up, I will have another goal which is much higher.

The first thing I think of when I see your page is SCAM.
Not that I think you are scamming. It's just the look.
Think of this way you won 1000 dollars please send me your email. would you send it? probally not .
Also you said. "I don't want to blog everything" bloggers make the most money. Lazy bloggers don't.
Good luck anyways

How did you decide that the amount of money that you want to make is $250k, and why did you pick 5 months instead of 6 or more??
markvin2205
Aug 7th 2007, 7:42 pm
well I want something to be remembered, 6 months and 1 year if very common, so I thought something different, 5 months. Its not too short and not too long, just right. I decided a goal of 50,000 a month, which equals 250,00 in 5 months.
But I am really thinking about lowering the goal, into something that I can definetly achieve, and something that people subscribing to my site can

I think that you should reconsider lowering the goal. Trying to make $250k in f5 months seems impossible if you haven't built a foundation so far. Maybe you can think about tiers and starting smaller so that every time you make an achievment you can increase your next goal.
markvin2205

question mark,
why does it say here and @ warrior forum that its 250k in 5 months but on the site it says 5k in 5 months?
markvin2205
Aug 9th 2007, 5:23 am
not sure where it says 5k, but I am lowering the goal, i rekon to 10k, as i can not spend as much time as I thought i could. Plus a 10k or 5k goal will be easier for everyone else to achieve as well

I won't say this can be another of those million sites but it really appears so.
You can't ask for someone's email ID without justifying enough. Give some glimpse of what you are going to give in return.
Have you put up a no-spam-policy and disclaimer link yet? This might help your cause.
Good luck

All the best with your IM journey. Im around $250k now and its a great feeling as its practically on auto pilot too....and setup in 2 months. So it is possible....regardless of age or background....money doesnt discrminate. ;)
Personally I would have gone with the open blog idea (your story spreads far quicker ;) ) as you're just sharing info arent you? Or just list building? hmmm

What makes your site different from the thousands of Splash page ad sites, that promise the same thing over and over, without delivering? How, if this site is genuine, will you be able to overcome the notoriety of all the same sites before you? $250k in 5 months takes a very loyal userbase of XX,XXX users, I doubt it. But, I wish you the best of luck with your venture.

For what your site is... it's decent, but it looks like every other affiliate get rich quick site. People need to understand that to truly make big money like the 250k that you're talking about, you HAVE to think outside the box and do stuff that no one else is doing. That really is the key. Stuff that when you first think of it, you'll say, "wait, i've never seen that anywhere else so it must not work." NO, that's not true.
If you innovate and get creative, you can make money by paving your own path.

I may have an alterior motive for stating this but, I think what you'll want to do is have folks here review what it is your selling as review copies. Looking at your site doesn't do a thing for me since there are thousands like it. What needs to be reviewed is the info you have to back it up and I recommend that you get input for that as opposed to this squeeze page.

See, one page sites may not be good for PPC but they aren't gone yet. One page sites are tools to sell something- a product or a sevice.
And, this page in question is doing just that. BTW, are you tracking its traffic surges of late?
