Personally I think they're of equal importance. If you have a mid-range PR (4-6) it usually means that you have a steady stream of traffic coming in from inbound links. But your site doesn't necessarily have to have a high PR to attract traffic - you could be getting 80% of your traffic from one link.

I dont understand why people care about PR so much. It's just a number given by 1 major search engine and everyone goes nuts. Traffic leads to members, to potential customers, increased earnings, and viral marketing. Pr does not.

i would say traffic too, especially with adsense or YPN, u need more visitors to click ads to make more revenue, PR wont give you anything here, you can use PR to manually sell links

do you have blog ? or any service portal if its portal you make more back link to get good PR and traffic , if you are doing work with blog then you have to daily post there to reach at good SERP in google .

I have a PR2 site that gets about 1200-1500 uniques a day... And 90% of that is from search engines. Google gives me 70% of that.. So go figure? I would also like to get higher PR..

1. Directory owners - because a submitter will pay more for a PR7 directory, for example.

Traffic is way more important than PR. If you have a lot of traffic sooner or later you will also get good PR. The reason for this is that some of your visitors will most probably link to your site. This isn't true for PR, high PR won't necessarily bring you a lot of traffic.

I know many PR freaks are going to go nuts with what I'm about to say but here goes anyway.
PR isn't that important to begin with. Many sites have high PR and nearly no traffic whilst others may have smaller PR and have a good amount of traffic. PR is important for selling links on your site, selling the actual site and trick a few newbies. What matters is the number of visitors, page views, monthly earnings, etc...
