Yeah, I can't login - I know username password exactly and it keeps me telling I am entering wrong password.
Now thats my personal email id - I use it for orkut and other google services.
The message doesn't say that account is disabled or anything - its just keeps saying wrong password.
Does it mean someone hacked into my account? or is it on temporary hold?
Google help says - account could be disabled for abuse - but I don't get specific disabled message - its just wrong password all the time!!!!!
Anyone ever had similar trouble??

Are you sure it's not a browser glitch/problem? Try restarting your computer, clearing your browser cache and cookies.
I remember having the same problem with my gmail account but restarting my computer solved it, I don't know how it happended exactly.

Browser cache should be fine - because I can login into other gmail account of mine.
If any mail is sent to the email id (in question) - it gets bounced with message as 'NO SUCH USER'.
Seems that google deleted my account - but why would that be? Its just damn personal email account (lastname.firstname@gmail.com)

Hello,
Thanks for your report. We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience.
For your security, we may temporarily disable access to your account if
our system detects abnormal usage. It will take between one minute and 24
hours for you to regain access, depending on the behavior our system
detected.
Abnormal usage includes, but is not limited to:
- Receiving, deleting, or popping out large amounts of mail (via POP) in a
short period of time
- Sending a large number of undeliverable messages (messages that bounce
back)
- Using third party file-sharing or storing software, or software that
automatically logs in to your account and that is not supported by Gmail
- Multiple instances of your Gmail account opened
- Browser-related issues. Please note that if you find your browser
continually reloading while attempting to access your inbox, it is likely
a browser issue, and it may be necessary to clear your browser's cache and
cookies.
If you feel that access should not have been disabled, please visit
https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=53897 for
troubleshooting tips.
Sincerely,
The Google Team

If it says 'no such user', they indeed deleted you for some strange reason.
All you could do is ask Google why they deleted your account (and not disabled it), as I'm also quite sure they can't revive your account.
Have you already tried to signup again with gmail for the same email account?

Google gives, and takes it over... That's why I don't use gmail... never.

did you violate any of the rules that they stated in the letter? Do you use outlook or any other email client to send email? It could be that your account was hacked and they were using it to spam.....do you use one of those services that uses your gmail account as storage? that's against the rules too

Try clearing your cache. It takes about 30 seconds, and is a big help in diagnosing the problem. I can't believe you refused to do so.
If that still doesn't help, it is very possible that your account was hacked. How complicated is your password?

Thats the possibility looks like. I already tried to signup with same id, but it says its taken.

BIG NO TO ALL OF IT

Sounds like it was deleted, then, if you didn't make a typo. Did you violate any of their terms of service?
Did you try the I forgot my password option, with the "secret" question? Did you by any chance make this something someone else could guess?
I worked with someone who's hotmail was hacked, and used to send a lot of threatening letters. Some of the recipients complained, Microsoft closed the account for abuse. She wound up being interviewed by the police, and ultimately they pressed charges against her ex-boyfriend.
There are always two sides to a story... As much as most of the people here would love to believe Google is a big, malicious giant stepping on peoples' email boxes randomly, there's some reason or other that the account was deleted, if that's indeed what happened.
