That seems like an awfully high number for SEO friendly. I always define SEO friendly as human edited, good category structure, nofollow-free, redirect-free, and indexed regularly.

It does not clarify what are paid directories and which are free.

It's making my head go in a spin actually and I'm not sure if I'll continue with the list anymore.

I agree with you, I know this list from some time ago. I used it to update my directory list from signature. After 1000 links i gave it up. A lot of links are not directories, are dead or not SEO friendly, and etc.

No matter. I de-duped the list and got about 3500 sites. I will be adding this list to ours and removing any duplicates. This may take me a while.... :-)

Our list has not been updated since 12/06. I will try to get to that soon and upload the new list.
