dont quite get this auction!!

ip.com is on auction and to my surprise it has got a 160euro bid!!:eek:!!! here is the link http://www.sedo.com/auction/auction_detail.php?language=us&auction_id=14053&tracked=&partnerid=

surely indeed i was expecting $1000+ and good flow of bids. well anyways somehow it didnt get any second bid. so it made me wonder how lp.net was able to grab $12000! (you can find it here 11th place from bottom http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/previous_auction_results.html?auction_id=81)

do u have any idea why ip.com got such a bid??

It isn't actual domain name. It is a multi-lingual name. I'm unfamiliar with the details, but I'm sure if you visit its page, it will tell you its IDN name.

xn--p-5ba.com

Not very attractive, but then again I don't know the details to how IDN works. In any case, the actual ip.com would probably be off the market with a starting bid of 100,000 easily.

The name is not IP.com, it is an IDN (xn--p-5ba.com). IP.com would be worth in the $xxx,xxx range
