Do you add any sites to the default ping list in wordpress ?
If so, please list them here.
I found this list
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=52431
I'm wondering if it's still up to date.
Thanks

Pinging is not as important as it used to be, now the bots do the work for you.

Do I really benefit from pinging tens of sites rather than the Ping-O-Matic default?

The biggest problem with pinging multiple sites is making sure that you don't ping the same sites multiple times... it will flag you as spam submission and get your blog/site ignored.
Many ping sites now accept pings from 'ping aggregators' and so the possibility of being labelled spam increases if you do not maintain your ping list.
Pingomatic pings several sites as does pingoat - with both pinging several similar sites.
My advice is to go with either a ping aggregator OR listing each individual ping site. If mixing an aggregator with additional site pings then the danger of duplicate pings increases.
The downside of all site pings is it will require more maintenance to ensure they are still active pings.
