Anybody know why this is? One of my articles is ranking at position 60 for my main keyword, yet I don't even think my main domain is in the top 100?

Does your site have good internal linking? Make sure all your internal pages link back to your homepage using your main keyword, thats what I do and I think it helps.

Interesting..haven't really heard of this kind of thing happening before. Maybe your internal page is a little better optimized? Maybe it uses the keyword/keyphrase more than your index page does?

maybe someone linked to that internal page that is giving it a lot more relevance than your homepage

It could be that the page is getting linked to from somewhere or your keyword may just appear more on the page.

your inner page ranking might be higher because of relevant / dynamic content or highly optimised than main page.

Maybe the inner pages have higher PR external pages linking to them...
