homepage looks nice
forums look too empty, too many categories and not enough posts.
note: you should start a forum with fewer categories and add new ones as members ask for them.

If I was to give constructive criticism on your forum, then I would make two points :
- I would use vBulletin as a forum software, I understand that it costs $70 or so, where as SMF, as you are using now, is free. If you can pay the extra cost then it's really worth it. Just look at digital point now, using vBulletin and I assume it was chosen for a reason :).
- Making a "General" forum is usually very very risky, and will be hard to start, simply for the reason that usually people join forums to talk about something specific, therefore they go to that forum to talk to specialists and people who share that interest.
Now, to this you might say that there are forums where people talk about general stuff, however, people join them because they are BIG and they have lots of people to talk to, which means that there is no space for new general forums. In a sense, you can adapt the saying :
"The rich people get richer, and poor people get poorer"
to
"The bigger (general) forums will get bigger, and the small (general) forums will get smaller"
Right, now I'm not sure if that came out right and if you got my point, but do not be discouraged by my advice, if you want to carry on and follow it through because you think that you can then by all means don't let me stop you !
Good luck with whatever you do,
