not even sure if the title is accurate...

often i find that the results i get (and clients get) from digitalpoint via the API key differ from results i get from a manual search in google.com

how do i explain that?

Look in the Tools section of the forum. There has been an extensive discussion about this.

But the simple answer is that not all of Googles servers are in sync and if you are getting results from a different server than Digital Point you may see different results.

Yep... the API is just like using Google for any other user. User A is not going to get exactly the same results as user B when they use www.google.com because of data center differences.
