Hello,
I recently moved my site from one side of London to the other when changing bandwidth providers. Google has now dropped me from the 'UK only' search. My site is a .com, we are a UK company.
I've contacted google a few weeks back via the form to update their IP database but I'm not at all convinced this has been done. My hosting provider has given me an IP block that was assigned from ARIN and not RIPE.
What can I do to get my domain back on the 'UK only' search?

Mocara.

It would need to be on a UK IP address or a .uk domain. What's the domain?

move hosts again? :)
seriously, there aint much you can do about it from my POV. don't count on google changing their database just for you.

I think geo targetting (as used by Google) is flawed.

Web hosting is quite expensive in India as compared to US and therefore we use a US based hosting company for our websites. Also, people prefer to use .com instead of .co.in here (and I think everywhere). Now, all the sites are about services/products offered by Indians (living/working in India) so Google should show these websites when one would search for some "keyword phrase" in "pages from India"... but it does not. The sites would typically rank on the 1st page if searched "the web".

You can contact google via their geo reporting facility and they will put you right, but your hosting MUST be a UK resolved host. or else they will not correct it. I have this as fact from Google via email.

How do we define this? My machines are in Telehouse North :-) How can I prove to them that this is a UK host?
