I loved the first superman movies when they came out, but I was a little kid.
Maybe I've just outgrown superman like I outgrew my superman underoos.
Is anyone looking foward to the new superman movie?

I'm Jealous. I missed the first Superman movies because I wasn't born until the 1960's. They must be on DVD by now, though.

I was born in the '60s and I saw Superman. Were you living in outter Mongolia through the '80s or something? :p

The first superman came out in 1978 and the rest in the early 80s. They're on DVD now though.

Oh, you meant those Christopher Reeve movies? Ned Beatty ruined those for me. Valerie Perrine also, but to a lesser extent.
And Richard Prior? What were they thinking??

YOU DON'T OUTGROW SUPERMAN.
Are you guys serious????? Superman is gonna be awesome!!! I was born in 1979 and saw every one. Kevin Spacey is great in every role he has ever played. This will be no different. And he's the bad guy. I'm sure the casting director is no slouch when it comes to a movie of this magnitude. The "unknown" actor is, no doubt, excellent! I am absolutely looking forward to this movie!!!! My only qualm might be....I was hoping they'd remake the original, not continue the legacy as a "sequel". But, either way, it's a guaranteed cashcow, and I believe the producers will not take that lightly. They'll make it viable.
Unless they created a character as annoying as Jar Jar Binks.

EPILOUGE: SIX MONTHS LATER
Wasn't it exciting to hear the excitment of the readers above? Could you just taste their excitement? After all, Superman was returning, with quasi-god Bryan Singer directing, of all people. Yes, those were good old days.
Unfortunately, their hopes and excitment were quickly dashed when they saw that the new Superman movie was in fact, the OLD Superman movie, right down to the crappy 80's title sequence, and dipsy characters of Lex Luthor and his dimwitted sidekicks. Two and a half hours of sucky movie that heaved cat wretch big time.
As for the box-office: the movie, which costs $250 million to make (which, judging by the film's looks was about $200 million too much), only made $240 million in the U.S. Of course, entertainment starved countries helped to raise the end take, but overall, it was a disaster for Warner Bros.
Now that director Bryan Singer has been brought back to reality, he will direct the next one, with a substantially smaller budget.
Now THAT'S Hollywood!!
