Was just enquiring if anyones rankings in Yahoo are fluctuating , I will no doubt receive negative feedback , but i dn't care as long as some knowledgable person gives an insight, or comments on ranking changes in their kws.

Is there a yahoo kw checker - not mcdar - cos only will work with google.

all of a sudden one of my sites came out of something like a "sandbox" today. it had been live for 3 months, and today is the first time atleast part of the site was indexed. ... Finally....

My rankings are all over the place, changing every couple of days. The cached version of my pages seems to keep reverting back to ones from a few weeks ago which seems to have a -ve impact on results

No mention on Yahoo's search blog that the update is ongoing:

Maybe its just playing games with me. I swear they lull me into a false sense of security that my good rankings are going to stay, before having a good old giggle and reverting back to old caches and old results

I have seen my deep index page count go up dramatically recently - but I suspect I am in a "hand edited" category - so its difficult to tell who is moving where.

I'm all over the place as well, I rank #50 for something then the next day I don't rank at all.

IAnyone else notice that Yahoo is trying to become more and more like Google. They have a new sandbox for new urls (though not as long...seems like around 3 months) and with this new update seems like they are giving much more weight to sites with plenty of backlinks (although quality of links doesn't seem to be as important)

I don't agree with that for my keywords, although it does look like quality is less of a factor with them at the moment

a few months ago

I have a few new site that i cranked with recips like around 1500 each

they appeared in the top 100 to top 10 yahoo search like a couple weeks

Then they disappeared, and are still Missing

Also a like 4 or 5 months ago a bunch of my sites that I cranked with like 15000 or coop weight were all removed from yahoo

So to test it out, I busted out a couple new sites and switched the weight over to them

They immediatly climbed to the top in yahoo and then disappear very shortly after.

One I took all the weight off and forgot about, another I left the weight on , like 10 - 15 thousand

they both have appeared in this update, not top 10 but like around top 20 for very competitive terms

Hopefully the site I cranked with just recips will come back in few months too

Yahoo still does not have a sandbox. They still run at sloth speed. They seem to place alot of weight on inbound links. However links are not all that matters. Unfortunately if I was to tell you what the other things are I would have to have you erased. :D

Same here. I was doing nicely until they reverted to a cache from 2 versions back and 6 weeks ago. I hope they are using old results on the SERPs while tweaking their update offline. They are certainly taking their time to complete the update.

Two of my sites magically came back in SERP again today (within the last few hours). It was totally gone from the SERP the last 3-4 month.

Now I'm back!! :D I hope it stays this time?!

Yahoo results right now are absolutely lovely for our terms. Top 10 for very, very competitive phrases. I hope it $tay$ there for a while.

I was apparently penalized by Yahoo about 2 months ago however last week I came up on a few keywords agin. Now I am back to not coming up at all.

It’s simple really. The reason your listings are going up and down with no real explanation is due to Yahoo having serious replication issues across its data centres.

They are also useless at counting backward links. There is no update guys, if you leave your site alone it will swing up and down regardless of changes that you make to it. It all depends on which data centre you query when searching. Every now and again they actually get them in synch but not often.

My advice complain like mad to Yahoo. Maybe they will get it sorted out if enough webmasters and seo's show them up as being incompetents which is what they are.

Yeah ok , adding hundred or thousands of links to sites, doesn't do anything

my sites must be just swinging up and down

Yes it does but if you develop to many inbound links on your c class records and then you screw your linking matrix you'll get caught out. Buy some more c class records and off you go again guess what cloaking is fun though if you know what to do

I disagree. I've noted some big changes since the last update

Maybe they will get it sorted out if enough webmasters and seo's show them up as being incompetents which is what they are.
<raises eyebrows>
I might not always like Yahoo updates but 'incompetent' isn't how I would describe them. :)

How can you know theres no update?
This is not the only forum talking about Yahoo update, also my kws have been static for the last 2 months now there bouncing around on an hr by hr rate, I have been monitoring my kws and noticed there had been no searches and my traffic dropped by 90% slowly its recovering , also better rankings for some.

Well, I can tell you guys that Yahoo is giving a few of our sites a nice treat. One has many top kw's for some great KW's and they just started showing this week... 4-5 days ago.

Hi guys, I know you think there is an update, Yahoo want you to believe there is an update. There is no update Yahoo is just trying really hard to sort out there replication issues accross data centers. Over the next few weeks you will notice Kw's going up and down with no apparent pattern to it. You will then see it all settle back down to where you were with a few exeptions. IE cloakers and spammers. (which is good). If you call that an update then fine. Also look out for a new EXP= part in the return string this is an attempt to mess up reporting software so your ranking reports don't return accurate position reporting. Give it 18 months and the first page results will all be what Yahoo want them to be which is paid for!!.
