$75 website header competition

Okay lets get a competition going here :D

I am using the layout of an old site of mine to design a new site from. I need a header doing for it, this is a football (soccer) site. Here is the header from my old site:

I'm going to use the same CSS files in the new site so I want the new header the exact same size, 800 by 324 pixels.

I need the white bar to stay where it is as the CSS uses that area for the navigation menu, though you can use the far right part where I currently have the players legs coming down.

You can use any colour schemes you like that you think will look good - its going on a completely new site, so I will make the background colour of the full site to whatever suits the header.

Any footballers in the pictures should be instantly recognisable stars in the English Premiership. I wont pick a design that is full of foreign stars, this site is aimed at the English market only. Foreign one might be coming soon too though! If you want to enter and arent sure of players feel free to post here or PM me and I will list some names of who's going to be the big players this season, there are thousands of images of them all on google images.

Be as creative as you like. I might choose 2 winners, if I do then I will pay both $75. Payment by paypal, I'll need the psd layered files & font files from the winner(s), and I will own complete copyright to the files once paid for.

If you have any questions please ask. I will let this run until Friday if thats long enough for you all. If anyone needs more time let me know and I'll consider extending it.

Had one PM from someone asking about players, so for anyone not into football here are some to consider:

Carlos Tevez - just signed for Manchester United

Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United Player

Wayne Rooney - Manchester United

Frank Lampard - Chelsea Player

John Terry - Chelsea Player

Cesc Fabregas - Arsenal Player

Steven Gerrard - Liverpool player


Please dont use too many from one team - I cant look like I'm favouring any specific team, football fans can be very fickle lol.

I'm looking for a good professional design, at least on par with what I posted above and hopefully better!

Wow its been years since i spent time on a proper banner! Heres my first attempt, i'll change stuff in the morning if you like it.

The players are supposed to have a rough outline in white, i wanted the effect for the banner, its not sloppy cutting, it was on purpose!

Thanks for the entry, but its not really the style I am looking for. People should base entries on one we have above - we like that style, nice and professional looking with high quality images used. Also please remember the white bar needs to stay - its used for our navigation system. We are making two new sites - we're going to use that header I originally posted (but with the url changed) and we want at least 1 more high quality one like it.

I used the players you listed. Good choices aswell - all are commercially well recognised. If you want any more players added, feel free to ask.

The colour scheme is nice and funky. If you want less colours, again, please state.

Ariestoteles, very nice entry. Though if it wins I would need Tevez changing as he plays for Manchester Utd and not West Ham.

SaxDesigns, it looks nicely put together but if I chose yours I would need the players making a lot more visible - the two central ones are very light and harder to see, I need people to instantly recognise the players.

Please dont waste time changing it now though guys, peoples entries give me an idea of what they can do, once I select a winner we can discuss any small changes if needed. I dont want to waste anyones time if they arent the winner and getting paid.

I'm looking forward to seeing more entries, remember I might select 2 winners.

I dont want to ask for any changes to anyones entry right now, as I dont think its fair to take up any more of peoples time. The entries so far all need some slight changes if selected, either to fit with my layout, or a slight colour change etc. The entries give me a good idea of what people can do. I will only ask for changes once the winner has been picked and paid :)
