I've submitted my site to all the directory lists out there such as, seo company, best web directories, site vortex etc. in all that makes well over 1,000 sites that i've submitted to maybe even 2k. But it hasn't made any dramatic affect just a little, But i was looking for more directories. I know hundreds of them open every day I want to know where to find those free ones.
Where do you all go to look for more directories to list in when allready submitted to all the lists?

you can also try searching on google with this command:
keyword directory "=add url" site:.com
or you can use regionals such as .co.uk
hope that helps..

Did you check http://www.searchenginecolossus.com ?
Chances are you can find a few directories that are not present on the lists you have mentioned.
I hope it helps.

More directory lists here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=25101
Also search the forum and check similar threads (at the bottom) you'll find exactly what you need.
And take a closer look at the suggestion from yococs, you'll find more and more websites to submit your website to.
Anyone looking for more directories to submit to could check this http://www.stephanmiller.com/archive/largest_directory_li.html

I do that 2! Well to make money online you have to be better then your competition so i can't just limit myself to a few lists and forums that i get directories from. I have to do more and more, and find even more ways to get links.

No wait maybe thats mysticmedia or something. By bad.
I found Jim Westergreen's list the most helpful, he's already screened those sites as giving quality links. Also, the solicitations here for directories are always a good bet because those get listed fast.

I wonder why being listed in over a thousand directorys didnt make much of a difference.

What's Jim's list? could you give me a link?
You chose good anchor text right?
I think that was my problem, When i listed on all those directories as the title i just chose "SplayTech" I think that was a big wrong move. But still being listed in all those directories even without good anchor text should have given me some traffic from search engines but as of right now i get about maybe 5 hits from msn every day and about 2 from yahoo, and none from google. Still have no clue why no good rankings, any idea's?

that's cool, but the owner should change the listings to open up a new browser window when you click on the links. I hate submitting then having to keep clicking back to get back to that page.

SEs prefer relevant links...directory links can rarely be considered relevant.. plus they have so many outgoing links they hardly pass on any PR..without the right anchor text they arent of much value...
BTW whats your PR after 1000+ directory links?

I saw this thread in my refferals :)
This is my list: www.addurl.nu
Updated almost daily, the biggest free SEO friendly list existing.
www.topdirectories.info <-- that is a new project with the purpose of giving visitors and PR to the different dirs - not really useful for dir submissions.

I seemed to have replied to a prev post from yesterday, my bad..
For the record I also have a list (and tool)
http://www.submissiontracker.net/?a=directories
Since I keep track of the submissions, I know that most of these will add your site in a reasonable time.

i've allready used the info v silencer list as well.
Dejavu i like your list! i've probably allready submitted to most if not all of those directories but i like the idea. I'll definetly use this tool you have for directory submitting because i always submit to lists and never check if they actually list me, other then if they email me about it. I'll use your tool hopefully it will be of great use, Thanks!

Mystic - A couple people thought you were me. Now I know who to blame if anything bad ever happens.
"It wasn't me! I'm innocent! It was that Mystic character!" :)
Good luck with your SE results. It will take some time, but you can probably get most of your existing listings updated if you want to take the time to do it.

"It wasn't me! I'm innocent! It was that Mystic character!"
lol
the only reason my name is mystic is because a couple years ago i was really into psychology took a couple classes and i learned that everyones a different type of person with letters, I'm an INFJ and the title for the is "the mystic" so i just thought that's a cool name and used it. If you google this you'll find it just type infj or whatever you are, its pretty cool. and i'm guessing mystikmedia is your company name right?

Hi mystic
You got to be patient. It takes weeks or even months till you get some results from submitting. I'm building a site with only directories to submit to, so visit me once in a while to find new sites.

you could start by exchanging links with me :) just visit : http://www.splaytech.com/ReciprocalLinks.htm and submit your site and your and your reciprocal link will show up in the directory within 24 hours!
other then that i've heard if you search on teoma.com on the right it has a resources section i haven't tried that yet but it might work.

I currently have 473 directories in my list, sorted by PR. I typically add several new ones a week. When you click on the link it comes up in a new window so you can just close it when you are done.

Hi guys, good news, Ive compiled a list of 412 directories which allow you to submit your website to for FREE, please be welcome to use it.
Each one of these directories dos NOT require a reciprocal link, the brains out there know how important a one way link is. I beleive this is the biggest list of free directories on the net,
Its free to use at my website http://www.free-seo-ebook.com
the list is here http://www.free-seo-ebook.com/website_promotion.htm
If you have the time and patience to submit your website to each of these directories and depending on the success rate, eg on or two our country specific or themed and some only allow free submitions for non profit websites but on the whole about 90% are normal free directories, so you should have a good submit success rate, so long as your website is considered a good source it should be added no probs, eg no adult, or one page sites, or scraper sites.
Its a lot of hard work I know, but well worth the effort, also if you use something like typeitin you can cut down on the typing a lot.

I certainly didn't try them all. In fact, I only tried one. This one: http://www.dvd-movie-shop.org/dir It's not a directory. It redirects to the homepage.

it is a little bit hard to copy/paste every link in new browser tab or windows... it would be much easier if there were links instead of plain text...

I was going to mention that too. I use a linkify extension for Firefox that fixes it, though.

Its not just about finding them, its pointless to have your link on loads of zero ranked pages and if you are doing what most webmasters do and using the same words then it will end up counting against you. just find those ones that are listed in google and at least you know the page has some importance,
