help on how to tweak smf.. pls..

hi, im building a site and recently uploaded smf. my site is an advertising site with a forum. smf works great!
i have a little knowledge in html, and javascript

my questions:

1. how can i add a menu tab in the forum home -- which will direct me to the main index page of my website? Coz when i preview my site, and enter the forum, i have no way of going back to the main page of my site.

2. how can i put google ads (where to paste the adsense code) on every thread starter?
