Hi guys...
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a really really cheap (Preferably free) CMS for managing properties.
A family friend has asked me to help him design a site for his real estate company.
He isn't bethered at all about SEO...
I guess as long as I can make a nice looking concept for him, he will be happy...
The only requirements that I have, are to be able to list the latest 2 properties on the index page, with images (One will do)..
Really I don't want to have to pay for it because I am not really getting anything for doing this and I really just want him to be happy without it costing me too much...
If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it...
Cheers

Drupal.org - the new 4.5rc-1
I built my current site on it (do i have a sig here lol!) and i also built a nice furniture store for my mums biz on it.
Im "intimate" with it ;) ive built a few modules and regularly hack the code for my own tweaks: SE friendly, will do exactly what you want with the image module installed.
Very helpful and active support community too..
added:: hmmm.. no sig, not sure on the rules so you can check my profile if you wish...

How easy is it to set up?
(love that site by the way ;))
What plugins do you think I will need for it in order for it to work as I would like...
Thanks for the quick responce BTW...

Don't think it's for free but the trial edition is very easy to install and run www.signumsoft.com/htmlnavigator. If link doesn't work: www.signumsoft.com

Mambo! Mambo! Mambo! with a bit of work would do the trick ...
If that can't be configured to the exact taste then get Hot Property (http://www.mosets.com/) for $120 ... Demo Page (http://demo.mosets.com/hotproperty/)

I built a site recently, Arizona Multiple Listing Service (http://www.azmultiplelistingservice.com), with Open-Realty. The layout is pretty basic but you can change all of that to match your needs or ideas.

Wow... I'd forgotten about this thread.
Thanks guys, that's pretty handy. I've got to finish this site soon. It's been going on to long (Lots of changes have been m,ade since the initial quote)
I've had a look at open reality, but it doesn't seem to be customisable enough for my needs.
I may give Hot Property a go.
Thanks again...

Hi,
I developed a new Real Estate php script for your sites. It is based on Jetbox cms and you can test it clicking on the following link: http://jpga.free.fr
As I have to work much to carry it out, it is not free but the price is very low: 10 €.
Send to me your remarks.
Thanks.

It certainly looks nice, but I wouldn't buy it because I *ALWAYS* insist on deploying for tryout on my own servers (for a variety of reasons) before I spend.
You could support this in a number of ways, but that's up to you :)
All the best with it,
JL

Elkiwi,
Are you making the code available.. (as in for download) ?
I just took a quick peek and it looks very SE friendly to me.
Cheers,

I'm toying with the idea but the code is very messy so I want to go through and put comments and clean it up a bit. It also uses a third party plugin which I hacked to upload the fotos. So I don't know if I'm allowed to put that up for download.
Anyway I'll have a look at it and get back to those who are interested.

Ok I've set up a demo site because some people are interested. I've in the process of rewriting a lot of this but please feel free to look and give comments on where improments can be made.
You can play around in the back end and change stuff if you like just don't edit the home page please.
Some properties don't have fotos as this site is a bit out of date from the orginal.
When it's finished I may try and sell it to anyone interested so any ideas as to what it's worth would be welcome too.
the add property in admin is expecting a zip file for fotos already at the right size 240px wide...I'll try to make something better as I go.
The WYSIWYG editor only works in IE at the moment...this is something else I'm fixing.
File manager is back online now. but permissions not set for anyone to delete.
