I got a directory submission tonight from a Casino and not even 2 minutes later I got a email from paypal that said my acct is limited .Thank god I have another paypal ,But i really dont like the fact that paypal can see the domain I was paid this money for.Now a question for those that have been through it before , is it safe for me to put my other paypal acct on my directory or should i just wait for them to see i removed the casino link and reinstate my other paypal?

sorry about that. Can you transfer your fund in your limited account? Maybe you can argue and refund the money to lift the limit?

This means we are all vulnerable!
It's BS that they would let someone else sabatoge our accounts without emailing us first for an explanation!

What i think you accepted the payment which at first place you shouldn't have at all.

Never accept Casino,Gambling, etc sites in future if you plan to use Paypal as your payment processor, at least i have very strict guidelines for such websites, and they are marked in red and bolded;) Happy life now, no such submissions.!!!

it was a link submitted to www.luxaco.com for $15.00 ,as you all know it is automatic payment system so i got the email from the system saying a link was submitted and literally 2 minutes i got the email from paypal.dubz , I have many gambling websites , we use neteller ,ecocard ,moneybookers and ezicard so my gambling/casino business money is never paid to paypal .This was because of a link submitted to luxaco and the email from paypal is below :

We appreciate the fact that you chose PayPal to send and receive payments

I also had my account limited for having a gambling category section today. I received the exact email as you however mine stated this for number one.

1. Remove PayPal as a payment option, as well as all references to PayPal,including the PayPal logo and/or shopping cart, from your website(s),http://www.website.com and http://www.website.com, specifically the gambling directory sections and

Now here is what I do not understand. If you follow the link in the email which is here: http://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/use/index_frame-outside&ed=gambling

No where on the site does it state it is against their policy to accept money from a gambling account if it is not related to gambling what so ever. No where does it state that we as directory owners are not allowed to receive payment for a simple link review. I am a little different from casionguy as I do not have any casion websites nor am I affiliated with any casion web sites. Here is a direct quote from their web site.

You may not use PayPal to send or receive payments for any form of gambling activities, including but not limited to payment for wagers, gambling debts or gambling winnings, whether conducted online, in person or through any other means of communication. Gambling includes placing, accepting, recording, or registering bets, or otherwise carrying on a game of chance for money, property, or other thing of value. This prohibition includes all gambling operations, even if and where such activities do not constitute unlawful conduct.

My question is how is what we are doing have anything to do with this at all. Accepting money for a link review is in no way a form of gambling.

And by the way, even by removing the gambling category section my account is still limited.

yes, i don't see anything wrong with accepting quality gambling links. Have had no problems with PP so far....

casinobonusguy, perhaps u can clarify the matter with PP and let us know their explanation? Think everyone will be very appreciative ;)

jl255 I have sent them two emails and also phoned them as well. The phone call was a waste of time and they simply refered me to email them. I posed the same questions as stated above in more depth to them in the email. I am awaiting a reply, I will let everyone know the reply.

Does this only affect US paypal accounts? I know that you can even place bets in the UK using paypal (eg. betfair.com) so it's pretty hypocritical of them to ban directories for accepting gambling links..

He is probably just using a "middle man".
PayPal is a necessity for any directory.

Yep, correct. I wanted to take credit cards & Paypal without using both Paypal and 2CO. So now it is done through one processor.

i have gambling links on www.vrcharts.com for 8 months and no problems with paypal .As for how i got the paypal back so fast i refunded the $15.00 and removed all gambling links from www.luxaco.com .it took less than 2 hours for my account to be restored.I really think it is a case by case basis how they decide on proceeding. In my case , I have $xx,xxx per month in business going through my paypal so i dont think they would want to lose it all for $15.00

I truly feel that this is the case. When doing $xx,xxx in business, that allocates very close to, if not a little more than $x,xxx in paypal fees. How stupid would they have to be to lose $x,xxx over $15? hahaha

@OP: Your name as well is a bit suspicious;) but anyways what i dont understand is that if Paypal limits your account for accepting payments for a gambling, adult etc link, why doesn't Paypal completely bans or limits the account of the person buying those links through Paypal;) I might sound weird but thats what i am wondering right now:P
