How would I go about preventing a download of a video (Assuming I can do it in htaccess), while still allowing them to view it in the their browser?

I think it all depends on how you embed it a web page. If it's saved as only a .asx file or or whatever they use to call the actual file, then they can right click and save as the descriptor file, but not the actual video. I'm sure there's more to it, but I believe that's the general idea.

You can make it more difficult, but you cannot prevent it 100%. The best protection is by using some of the digital rights systems built into the better video encoding systems (QuickTime, WMV files, etc.) where you can set them to expire after a certain amount of time... Like after 30 days, they are useless for example.
