Look at the product price and % that's paid out. i.e. do you want 5% of a $10product or 5% of a $50 product? Keep in mind though that as the price of a product goes up you'll probably sell less of them online. For example, a friend of mine got hooked up with Amazon and only tries to sell big ticket items like Plasma TV's. He gets a nice commission when he sells one, but he only sells 1 or so a month. I make more commission selling books and movies...it's all about the volume. Books and movies can be an impulse buy...whereas 9 times out of 10 a $3000 plasma TV is not.

Amazon's commission structure is pretty simple. You'll get the hang of it pretty quick.
