The best ones are the most trusted by Google. Finding them is easy, just search for article directory on google.com and you get a nice list.:)

Seriously, don't bother with the ones that don't rank on Google.

Article City is the one that I like to use. It has good PR and ranks fairly well. Like the other guys said don't bother with the other sites much. I also use isnare on occassion.

www.searchwarp.com is another really good article directory.

Also, www.articlecat.com is usually somewhere on the first couple pages of Google for "article directory."

One of my article directorys has actual article pages that went PR3 last update, will probably go PR4 this one. It doesnt rank for "article directory" so would you say its not worth submitting to?

try googling your keyword with "submit articles" or something along that line.

That way you'll get an article directory that ranks for your niche.

"Article Directory" is a very competitive search term. You could try something more specific and make sure that you consistently place that term in sig files and allinanchor text for articles. Ex. "general article directory" or "article directory submission". Just my 2 cents.
