Yahoo has updated and indexed my new site pretty well, but google has done a couple of updates and my site still doesn't appear to be ranking too well.

Should I wait?

Should I do more?

aahhhhhhhh

LOL

Well, I have updated my site, then checked it in google and yahoo a few days later, yahoo picked the changes up perfectly but google, although it has updated the pages in it's index, doesn't appear to be ranking me well nor sending me visitors.

I was just wondering that if you are indexed well enough in yahoo, your good rankings will also show through in google eventually.

We have a number of sites like that - you need to look at them differently for each SE

What more can you do? Get more backlinks, you'll get updated faster.

I agree... Yahoo likes on-page optimization, while Google likes out-page optimization.

And what exactly have you based that statement on?

I wish I knew what Yahoo liked? I think they used to rely more on on-page rather then off-page but I'm at a loss now. We used to do great there then all of a sudden fell off the charts. No changes to pages and "Y" shows more inbound links then any other engine. And we're still good in their directory. All I can think of is someone at "Y" doesn't like me. :(

Im pretty sure that Yahoo doesn't depend on Inbound links as heavily as google. YET! im sure they are constantly changing their algo as well to keep up with the big "G".
