If you can post 1 article per blog each day that would be best in my opinion.
Even 1 article per blog each week is better than a few each month. If you update with new article on each one every few days site will be spidered more than radon updated sites.

But i think it's much better if one single blog gets updated twice a week atleat.

You are interested in creating a blog network, correct? Do you currently run a blog of your own? What posting frequency has been successful for you in your current blog?
If you don't run a successful blog, what makes you think you can manage 5 of them? Start with one and figure out what you need to do to be successful. Once you've accomplished that, then you'll be ready to start up a blogging network.

In my opinion, you can do some practical reseach on one blog itself, first. I mean start updating your article with each new article once every week. Then see the difference from various point of view. Also find out the response to your blog if you start updating one article every four days. May be you could start this technique in the other blog. Also try to get feedback from people visiting your blog.
Do all this just as a research work. Finally, after a month, you could come up with your own conclusion based on your reseach.
