Yahoo Search Marketing Opens Doors to All

Yahoo dropped their minimum $20 monthly adspend requirement making it easier for smaller buisinesses to enter the search engine advertising.

With YPN ready to go into full swing, Yahoo is ready to fully capitalize on this venture, not ignoring the millions of potential customers by having a minimum spend requirement.

This is good news for small and home businesses. It also seems that is should be good news to YPN sites also, opening up the potential for more advertistement, advertising dollars and hence, more potential earnings.

I think this is a solid move from Yahoo and I'm glad to see that it makes business sense for them to show sensitivity to the needs of the little guys.

Yes, let's hope so. Even if it's "mom and pop" shops, millions of more advertisers at a few bucks a month is millions of more dollars for website publishers in the big picture ....

Also, it will better diversify their inventory IMO.

I don't see how this helps smaller biz, they are still competing against larger budgeted competitors, how will this help them if it only allows them to spend less? Especially since ads are served based on bid amount.

It will help smaller businesses because when the minimum spend was in place, they would not advertise at all. Now they can advertise, and spend like 10$ a month or whatever.

Of course they never apply this to their UK customers

I'm well above the minimums but I find it annoying ragardless that its still a £60 deposit with a £20 minimum and coupons can never be used.

Added - Holy crap - Just noticed the date on this thread - suckered again

Why don't they drop the .10 minimum per click too. This is the only reason why I don't use them more.
