Any way to get free domain name?

I know. I know. Domains are cheap, and not that expensive, however, right now I am in a bind, and I do not have the money. I was thinking maybe with some kind of coupon or something there is someway to get a domain name. All I have right now is around $1.20 or something of that sort...I know, I need to get some more money. Thanks

Well, I think I need a .com for what I am trying to do. Thanks though..I mean, if all fails, I'll just have to wait a little until I get enough money to buy a domain. I was just hoping this was an option as I was trying to get started ASAP.

I dont mean any offense at all by this, but if you cannot come up with the money for a domain name registration how do you plan to take care of hosting, promotion, advertising etc.?

Maybe you could run an auction for a signature link, (but you will probably not be able to get $9 for 3 months until your post count is higher)

Also, just in case you're wondering..The reason I am unable to buy at this moment is because I am trying to save up $150 in order to signup for this sport league I am trying to do. I have been looking for work these past few days..The $150 was due last Saturday, and I still have not yet paid :\. I get some money via check, so that helps me out some, but usually around $100 which I won't be getting until around the 18th of June.

I already have hosting, and as far as promotion and advertising I would try to do everything I can for free until I get some money in order to pay for it.

Oh, it is alright..I didn't mean to sound rude or anything. I really did not want to make this thread as I know I look like a complete idiot, however, I am not. I was just seeing if something could happen..I didn't have my hopes up at all. You can't do anything but hope :)

I have a host. I am 16 years old so don't think I am some guy that makes a living off the internet, and can not afford a domain name..I have to spend whatever money I get normally. I saw people give out loans, etc so I figured maybe I could get one. I have one adsense site right now making around .50/day. It is a proxy. I want to get some other sites out there in hopes to make more money because I know the proxy clicks will go down drastically.

Can you write articles because I am sure you can make enough in a few days to buy your domain. The other options is to, if you are in the United States is to sign up for Mircrosoft's officelive.com, they offer a free domain which you can transfer when you close your account. You need a credit card but they do not charge you. The problem is that it limits what you can do, you must use there sitebuiler to build your site. It is teh only way I know to get a free domain.

I know that there is a forum around, owned by someone on here, where if you make about 400 posts, then they will register a free domain for you... however I can't actually remember the link to the forum at the moment! Also, I think if you went around the buy/sell forum, you would probably be able to get enough money to buy a domain name in about an hour or two, there are always small jobs that are just waiting to be done:)

The Godaddy .info is .99 cents but comes out to 1.21 or 1.24 in total. But there are other places you can earn your way to a free domain. Here are a few that I am with and do get free domains:

1. Namepros
2. Ezyrewards
3. DomainLagoon

You can #2 and #3 via surveys so be sure to have a spam email to pick up the slack for all the junk email. And you can usually have it within 24 hours.

there is a site which allows you to register domain names for free. but in order to get a domain name registered for you, you have to post at that site and earn points to grab your domain name for free. currently i am working towards getting a free domain name and i can tell you, all you have to do is post regularly and its not that hard and not that much time consuming to get a domain name for free. if you have time and guts to post as you do here in digital point, you surely will get your domain name for free. here is the link: http://www.ddboard.com/
