View Full Version : My .org address, won't work with www

I just bought a domain name here on DP and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working yet. Until I typed in the address without the www and my site showed.

Any idea why?

It's registered with GoDaddy but hosted elsewhere.

I'm not familiar with GoDaddy, but login and check your host records for the domain in question.
Make sure the "www" has the same settings as the "@" one. (both should be set as A Records)

Also, check with your hosting to make sure the "www" is added in the virtual hosts config.

I hope this points you in the right direction. ;)

when did you register it or change DNS? I find that www takes longer to propagate than the non-www version.

When did you buy the site? Give time for the DNS to propagate

DNS Is still not Resolved yet .

Aha, ok, thanks guys. I bought it yesterday.
You were all right, cause today it's working. Just took a bit longer for the WWW.
